What We Offer

Jumping Kite Productions are all about experiences of growing up in this increasingly tumultuous world. Our stories are kind, funny and daring. We want children to understand this world through stories, songs and play.

We also offer consulting services for other productions who create stories about South Asian experiences – be it a single episode or a whole series. We are able to review storylines, scripts, art design to help validate authentic and respectful portrayals of a vastly diverse South Asian diaspora.


At Jumping Kite Productions, we get our hands dirty playing with stories. We are available to co-create shows, develop new content, write show bibles and writer bibles and scripts. We are also able to write children’s books based on a theatre production or a TV show.

  • With Chitra’s experience in developing her own books for TV, we are best placed to assist creators who want to flex their IP into other forms of media.
    Chitra has worked with multiple production companies to develop their IP into treatment and prepare for next stages.

  • Chitra specialises in writing for children from ages 0 to 10. She also writes poems, songs and plays for children. Check out her writing credits in our Founder’s page.

  • Chitra’s expert knowledge of writing & performing for children and guiding them create stories for over a decade helps her to pitch stories to the right audiences.
    She is best placed to validate stories / scripts and content for audience appropriateness across preschool and bridge audiences.

  • At Jumping Kite, we can review new projects from bible stage till scripts, design to final cut for cultural authenticity. We are particularly well-placed to consult on content with South Asian stories.

  • Chitra is a brilliant public speaker. She has appeared at national and international literary festivals, media panels and author panels across the world. She is an expert in discussing reading for pleasure, creating kids TV shows and bringing inclusive content to books and screen.
